Choose 90 Degree or 180 Degree Rotation

The correct rotation is determined by how the cam must move between the locked and unlocked positions. Confirm the viewing side, key movement, opening direction and required stop positions before ordering.

90°

Quarter Turn Operation

Choose this option when the cam only needs a quarter turn to engage or disengage the frame. Confirm clockwise or counterclockwise movement with the selected cam.

180°

Half Turn Operation

Choose this option when the installation requires a half turn between operating positions. Verify cam clearance throughout the complete movement.

Four Dimensions Control the Fit

Panel Cutout

The hole shape and dimensions must match the housing and anti-rotation features.

Panel Thickness

The barrel and mounting nut must provide sufficient engagement on the installed panel.

Grip Distance

Measure from the mounting surface to the point where the cam engages the frame.

Cam Geometry

Confirm cam length, width, offset, bend and mounting orientation for reliable closure.

Typical Application Review

Equipment Cabinets

Compact keyed access for cabinet doors after the cutout, grip and cam position are verified.

Electrical Enclosures

Suitable for compatible indoor enclosure panels; required environmental protection must be confirmed separately.

Storage Compartments

Key-operated closure for drawers or compartment doors that match the lock dimensions and cam travel.

Keying and Security Confirmation

K002 is the published standard key for model 10087-27. If multiple locks must share one key or use different keys, state the required arrangement and quantity before ordering so compatibility can be checked.

Security performance depends on the complete cabinet, panel material, frame engagement, cam design and installation. If the application has a defined security or access-control requirement, include it with the inquiry for product review.

Installation Check

Verify the product drawing before preparing the panel. Insert the lock through the specified cutout, orient the housing, secure the mounting nut, install the approved cam and confirm that the cam clears adjacent components throughout its full rotation.

Test locking and unlocking with the door open first. Then close the door and check engagement without forcing the key. Excessive operating load normally indicates that the cam position, grip distance or frame alignment requires adjustment.

Compare more cam locks, review the full cylinder lock range, or see compression cam latches for doors that require pull-down compression.
